It took a while for me to get it. About half way through the light went on in my mind and I realized why so many of my relationships with men didn't have the outcome I expected or wanted. Respect, why is that so hard to give, why do I hold on to it so tightly and need infinite proof of worthiness.....which is impossible therefore unattainable. So I guard my 'respect' as a prize and never give it to anyone. Not even myself. What a useless pursuit for my life. Today is a new day and I got it from reading this book. I have awoken the ability to observe myself in relationship to everyone else and am dedicated to showing respect in every way to myself and to them.
This book basically tells you how to take all responsibility for men not being accountable or emotionally mature
Thoroughly enjoyed the insights of this quick guide to understanding male relationship dynamics. The author makes absolute sense with a no nonsense attitude and without all the extra hyped up fluff of other relationship coaches who charge a months rent for this exact information and condemn women to a life of singledom should they not choose their specific advice. I read through this in just an hour or two and the concise elaboration of key points is easily retained.
Now I just have to actually apply this advice to my current situationship . I'm just over my heart being so broken.
This books makes you look inside. If you are not afraid of that, read it. If self-awareness is not your thing, look somewhere else!
All the topics were so relevant to what I have been going through in life. I liked the practical examples you gave in all the chapters. Some of them were exactly what I have been doing. This book really helped me to think & do things differently. I'm so happy in my relationship now.
The title doesn't do it justice; this little book reminds women about how men think without excessively flowery verbiage or analysis... Some books are like lecture series; his skinny reads are more akin to cliff notes with flavor... Also recommend Bruce Bryan's "The 7 Irresistible Qualities Men Want In a Woman". It will all strike you as common sense AFTER you read it.
Great book. I admit respect is a learned behavior for many women. This book has made a tremendous pissitive impact on my self development and made me aware of the terrible mistakes I made in my past relationship (marriage of 20 years ). I wish I had this book while I was married. I admit women are spoiled and like to get our way and end up pushing a good guy away.
